AVID

Advancement Via Individual Determination

AVID

Preparing students — often the first in their families to attend college — for college readiness and success.

Our nation’s schools are full of students who possess a desire to go to college and the willingness to work hard, but many do not truly have the opportunity to be college-ready. AVID equips teachers and schools to help these students succeed on a path to college and career success. In the AVID Elective, students receive one period a day of the additional academic, social, and emotional support that helps them succeed in the school’s most rigorous courses — and AVID practices improve engagement for every classroom on campus.
